Dog Lessons Progress!

I picked up Dog Lessons to take to work on Sunday in case I had any time to stitch. I think I put 4 stitches in all day! I decided to keep it out though because I started to panic my fabric was too short.

I'm stitching down the left side to make sure I do have enough space. I started much farther down my fabric than I should have for some reason, but I think there will still be at least 1.5 inches if not 2 inches at the bottom. Of course there's 5 inches or so at the top... but apparently that felt right when I started this 2 years ago.

Hope everyone is having a good week so far and happy stitching!

  1. All stitches count as progress :-) You should be fine with an inch and a half at the bottom. Plenty of room to finish it off.

  4. I did the same thing with my Bent Creek Snappers. Used one of the purple disappearing fabric markers to check it - total panic! But I had room :D
Your project is great - SO pretty!!!

  5. I have done that before too! I just mount them myself and then the framer won't complain about it being so short. I've never really needed more than an inch on either side anyway (and I've had it even shorter), I'm not sure why framers scream they want a minimum of 2 inches and I even had one that wouldn't touch a project because they didn't have 3 inches on either side. That is just too wasteful to me!

    1. That's a good point. I've mounted a couple things myself before, but I wouldn't say I'm comfortable with it.

  6. I've had that panic moment too and so far been lucky. Glad it's worked out okay and the stitching looks great.
