WIP Wednesday and a Difficult Decision

I've been wrestling with a decision over the last week or so. I thought I'd give it a few more days to see if I really needed to make the choice, and now I have. I've decided to give up on Ballerina Dreams for a finish by mid-June. I'm just not close enough to a finish. But I will post my update as this will go away for a bit.

End of January
End of Feburary
and now:

There's definitely progress and it's somewhat sad to put it down before I even got to the Ballerinas, but I think it's for the best.

So if anyone has any ideas on what to stitch for a 50 year old man who likes to wear bowties, works in the eye care business, has an English degree and loves theatre and has, an amazing singing voice, plus he has 2 awesome girls and an awesome wife, please let me know!

As far as other WIPs, the Skagen shawl is moving along as well:

But that's all I have to show for now!

Hope everyone is having a good week. We were supposed to get a nor'easter (read blizzard of massive proportions) but it's been downgraded, so we should get some snow, but not too much.

Happy Stitching!

  1. Oh my gosh, I am one that cannot put anything down and go to work on another stitch project, you are lucky you can do that.
    Your shawl is beautiful.
I am not sure what to stitch for him, he sounds very impressive.
I will be keeping an eye out to see what you decide on.

    Blessings

  2. Your shawl is looking beautiful and you made a good progress on Ballerina as well:) It is ok to keep aside and work on something else for sometime. I have no idea about the stitching designs available but considering the inputs, maybe, something related to music can be stitched.

  3. Boy I can sure understand. When you aren't in love with a piece it just almost hurts to work on it. Hope you can find something else to do for him soon.

  4. What a shame you won't be able to finish this in time but it's better to decide now while you still have time to start something else!
My immediate thought is the Ink Circles Treble Clef and Sharp series.

  5. Apparently it's a Bass Clef and an Alto Clef, what do I know about music?

  6. It's good that you've decided now instead of waiting until the last second and then freaking out over what to do now (not that I've been there, noooo).

Knit a bowtie! Stitch his eye care sign! Do a sampler of bowties, eyeballs, ballerina bits, music scores, and fancy literature!

  7. The shawl is looking super. Lots of progress you have made, but a good choice to save you being in a panic nearer the time.
Hope you find something suitable and that you like and enjoy working on.

  8. I think your decision was right. There is still enough time to stitch something else for him. I love Jo's idea.

  9. No ideas on the bow tie, but I know how it feels to bow out of a goal...you have to do what's right for you!

  11. I'm kind of sad to see the Ballerinas go away for now, but it was a mighty ambitious project to begin with! I hope you found something else to stitch for him in the meantime.

Catch-up Post and Mischievous March

Hello again, things conspired so I didn't get a chance to put a post up, but I have been stitching. I also remembered to pick up my Misc...
