WIPocalypse May 2018

It's WIPocalypse time again and check out everyone's progress over at Measi's blog! This month's question is:
Where do you love to shop for stash?

When I can, I order either by email or in person from my LNS, The Wooden Needle in Stowe, VT. It's not very close, so I don't get there as often as I'd like. For gifts lately I've been asking for GC to 123stitch and I've come across a new-to-me site called Half Moon Stitchery

Also, please check out how Jo is doing with her 18 in '18 and how a few of us are joining her this year. :)

I posted about my 18 in '18 last month and what has been finished, in progress and what I hadn't touched yet. For part of May I did a WIP Maynia and pulled out a lot of the projects that hadn't been out of their expandable file yet this year. There are quite a few and I think there are progress photos in my other posts, so in this post I'll try and find a photo of what the finished object will look like eventually.

AAN Spider Banner

Getting there! Only a few more days and I should have a finish here too.

 Mini Winter Magic

Basset Hound
I posted the photo of the cover page here, and I think a solid week or so will finish this one off as well.

 Frosty Friends

This is the top left one.

Letters from Nora - L

Again, a week or less should finish this one off too.

And that's where I'm at so far with my 18 in '18. Once I finish off the obligations, which right now are Fishing, the Optician and a shawl for my Mom, all due mid-June, then hopefully I'll get back to these and get a few finishes!

Hope you all had a good weekend and Happy Stitching!

WIPocalypse - April Edition

It's time again to post about how my 18 in '18 are going. This was Jo's brilliant idea, and I've enjoyed trying to keep up with it so far. Check out all the WIPocalypse fun at Measi's blog too!

My initial list was:

1. Covered Bridge - FINISHED
2. Fishing - close to a finish
3. Xmas Train - FINISHED
4. Ballerina Dreams - On Hold
5. Here Comes Treble - FINISHED
6. Tribal Dragon - close to a finish
7. Do Not Meddle - worked on
8. Letter S - untouched
9. Letter H - untouched
10. Letter G - untouched
11. Spider Banner - untouched
12. Princess and the Dragon - worked on
13. Ocean Curiosity - worked on
14. Letter L - untouched
15. Basset Hound - untouched
16. Mini Winter Magic - untouched
17. Otto - untouched
18. Frosty Friends - untouched

So far only 3 finishes, but 2 projects are pretty close. I'm debating about my next steps. With Stitch Maynia coming up next month, I could spend 15 days on 15 different WIPs or 15 days on one WIP (mono-Maynia). I'm not great at sticking with one single project, so I'm leaning towards the 15 different WIPs. It would be nice to get a page finish on Otto or Winter Magic though, or maybe even finish Spider Banner.

I'll keep thinking about it. For now, here are the photo updates from what I've worked on since last month:

Fishing last month:
and now:

Princess and the Dragon last month:
and now:

Our question this month is to discuss your oldest WIP. That is number 15 above, the Basset Hound. I purchased this chart on ebay before I knew there were better places to buy charts, etc. and left it here maybe a decade or so ago?

I plan on digging this one out this year, I don't think it would take too much to finish it off. It's 14 ct, so a fairly easy stitch and only 6 colours if I'm remembering correctly. I think I stopped because I wasn't sure if I was happy with how it looked. From the photos it seems okay, so I'll know more once I can find it. Wish me luck!

Happy Stitching,

WIPocalypse January 2018

I'm a little late getting this one up, but have a bit to show. Also, this month's question is about what SALs we might be signed up for and if we're going to attempt Olympic stitching of any kind.

So far I've managed to finish 3 of my 18 in '18 projects, although the others will likely take a little more time. Some have progressed though!

Finishes are:

Covered Bridge
Here Comes Treble
Christmas Train

You've seen the first two, although I think I maybe forgot to post about the train. I'm very happy to have these finishes already and hope there will be several more crossed off the list by the end of the year.

I finally joined the Christmas Ornament stitch a long and finished my first ornament, and even posted about it on that blog.
January's theme was Deck the Halls, note the holly! :) This is a small from WOXS I think, one of their batches of several patterns on a theme.

I don't think I've signed up for any other SALs at this time, unless IHSW counts, but the it's early in the year yet. I have at least 4 unfinished SALs to stitch, so I might get to those at some point this year as well.

For Olympic stitching I plan to spend a lot of time on Ballerina Dreams, but I may rotate a different project per day and try and get at least one thread length into each project. We'll see how it goes.

I need to go and catch up on everyone's posts and hope you've all had good stitching days.

Happy Stitching!

Late June/July Update

I could have sworn I had a post in July about June stitching, but clearly not. So here are 2 months in one! I will say I had less stitching ...
