MYTHOLOGICAL STITCHERS

The Epic Challenge!
Part One: The Goddess of Spelling
- Stitch on a WIP related to each of the letters to spell out MYTHOLOGY. Can relate to project or designer names, themes, etc. 2000 stitches per letter.

Part Two: The God of Reading and Movies
- Read a book and/or watch a movie related to mythology and stitch 500 stitches on a project you can relate to what you read/watched. Repeat as often as you like.

Part Three: Stitch Your Own Epic
- Stitch 1000 stitches on each favourite epic and relate to WIP. List in event.

FULL COVERAGE FANATICS

20 in 20 - stitch 20K stitchers on one project in 2020. I'm using Mini Faery Tales for this and if I can keep up with 1000 stitches per week, I'll hit this goal by around June. 1000 stitches so far.

2020 National Parks Challenge

This challenge involves stitching 4000 stitches at a time on one project, then you can move on to something else if you like. For example, I've started Acadia with Mini Faery Tales, and Arches with Mini Waterhole Master. Once you complete 4000 stitches, you move on to the next park and once you complete 5, to the next tier.

SEMI SANE STITCHERS

Once Upon a Fairytale... - The goal is to try and finish a fairy tale piece by the end of June. I decided to start mini Faery Tales and my goal is 1000 stitches per week, which doesn't get me to a finish, but it gets over half done, so that might be possible. It's a good excuse to start this one. Here's where it is so far:

Stitch Around the Parks
Another way to count stitches, have to be in order and can't double with weekly challenges.

Epcot
(367) Walk 367 feet from the main entrance to the park's centerpiece, Spaceship Earth. DONE

(1,312) It's a little bit of a hike over to the next attraction, Mission Space, which is 1,312 feet away.
(2,036) You'll visit the year 2036 during your Mission.
(344) Test Track is an easy hop of 344 feet away.
(649) At 64.9 miles per hour, Test Track is the fastest attraction at Walt Disney World.
(413) Go 413 feet to the Epcot Experience, a temporary exhibit detailing the future of Epcot.
(545) Time to enter the World Showcase and walk 545 feet to the Mexico Pavilion, home of the Gran Fiesta Tour.
(1,656) The Gran Fiesta tour is a boat ride which can accommodate 1,656 people per hour.

Animal Kingdom

(995) Next, make your way over to DinoLand U.S.A. It's 995 feet to get to Dinosaur, an indoor dark ride.
(1,856) To visit Dinosaur, stitch 1,856 stitches - the length (in feet) of the ride's track.
(466) Next you'll visit the twin spinning coasters of Primeval Whirl, which is 466 feet away.
(1,378) Each side of Primeval Whirl is made up of 1,378 feet of track.
(160) Walk across the midway to get to Triceratop Spin.
(794) That completes DinoLand U.S.A., so walk 794 feet to Adventure Outpost to meet Mickey and Minnie.
(676) Next you'll head into Asia and walk 676 feet to the Rivers of Light amphitheater to check out this night time show.
(667) After that, you'll go to another show, Finding Nemo - The Musical, 667 feet away.
(387) After watching Finding Nemo, it's time to walk 387 feet to Expedition Everest.
(4,424) While riding Expedition Everest, you'll cover 4,424 feet of track.

(696) To find another princess, you'll need to walk 696 feet to Fairytale Garden, where you can meet Princess Merida.
(400) Another 400 feet will take you to the base of the park's iconic Cinderella Castle.
(183) Cinderella Castle is 183 feet tall, and is the 3rd tallest structure at Walt Dinsey World. The use of forced perspective makes it appear much taller than it actually is!
(1,023) The last stop is Town Square Theater, where you can meet the boss, Mickey Mouse, as well as Tinkerbell.

  1. If you count stitches (which I don't!) these all seem like reasonable year-long challenges. I like the idea of the National Parks and Landmarks challenges best as they can be marked off and progress clearly seen over time. :)
