Stitch Maynia Start #5

Day 5 means a slightly larger start, although still not a great big project. Sometimes I pretend to be reasonable with these challenges. :)

Eventually it will look something like this:

And after a few hours of work, 632 stitches precisely, it looks like this:

Soccer Player by Handblessings
stitched 1 over 1 with WDW Lavender and Ultraviolet
on 22 ct Sky by BeStitchMe

I'm debating about trying to get 100 stitches into it a day, or a thread length to make sure it doesn't linger much past May. It's easy enough with the variegated thread, not much finagling to do, so I'll see how it goes with the future projects as well.

Tomorrow is another project that's a little smaller than this one, but larger than the flowers. I don't know if a same day finish will be possible on that one either.

Happy Stitching and stay well!

  1. Tiff: This is an adorable design, are you using the called for threads or your own choice?
This reminds me of the books we read way back when Dick and Jane series.

    1. I'm using some of my stash threads, I think called for is DMC823 or something like that. Very monochromatic.

  2. I do like the colours you've chosen for this one. Will the child be the same variegated or a different one?

    1. The child will be in ultraviolet, like the outside border. Thank you!

    1. Yes, variegated yarn is so much fun as well! I've tried self-striping too for socks, it's interesting how it works out.

    1. Yes, I like the effect as well. I did the same for Walk with Dad when I used WDW Lucky for the trees and the border on that one. It looked really good, so hoping for magic again.
