30 Days Challenges Day 25 - 10 Halloween charts I Must Stitch

In an entirely unplanned coincidence, Kate and I are both posting 10 of our favourite Halloween charts. Now that I've seen her list I'll have to add some to my wish list, and surprisingly we have several different ones in our lists.

I love stitching Halloween charts and I stitched this one in 2013:

And for some reason I can only find the glow-in-the dark thread photo:

DH loves Halloween as well, so it's a fun subject to stitch and something we can leave up all year if we want. We've left Midnight Farm (above) up since I finished before Halloween 2013. Speaking of Halloween 2013, this was my costume:
8 months pregnant and Otto in his football player costume at the bottom

On to the list of things I have yet to stitch:

1. Happy Halloween by Satsuma Street

I love the combo of bright colours and spooky stitches in this one.

2. A Spirited Mandala by Ink Circles

I've resisted the pull of mandalas up till now. I love this one since you have to look to find the Halloween design. I think I would stitch this on a brighter orange fabric than the recommendation.

3. Crow by Acorn House

This will be a big undertaking since there's a lot going on in this one. The mouth opens to use it as a needle book and you can put scissors in the back. I think I'd just use it as a decoration though.

4. Halloween Spooky Sampler by Frosted Pumpkin

I love the fact you can stitch this any way you want, but if you do it as charted you use that cool skull and bat border. The letters all represent the photos, although I'd have to check the pattern for why the A seems to have ghosts? Maybe they're afrits?

5. Sleepy Hollow by Glendon Place

This is the one Kate mentioned as well, and if you'd like to see it being stitched, check out Sew Dance to see all the awesome details!

I loved every minute of stitching Midnight Farm and I grabbed this one and another one from my LNS at 50% off. I haven't started it yet, it will likely be next year, but I'm really looking forward to adding it to my other finish.

7. Wings and Things by Ink Circles

I'd love to stitch this one too! I'm thinking maybe a more grey fabric, like Khione from Chromatic Alchemy, but stitch with the blue for the stitching and the spider web maybe Whisper if I feel like torturing myself, but wouldn't it look cool? Maybe Rainbow Gallery blending filament would be less hassle.

8. Sleepy Hollow by the Cross-Eyed Cricket

9. Spider Banner by AAN

I have started this one, and it's been too long since I've worked on it. I can't wait to finish it! I'm stitching it in bright colours and plan to hang it in DD's room. I would hope that she won't have my aversion to spiders. I'm better, but they still creep me out. Here's my WIP:

10. Midnight Manor by Waxing Moon Designs

This is another one I started for the Crazy January Challenge and also hasn't been touched since January. I can't wait to get back to it!

That's my list! I hope you enjoyed it and I gave you some ideas for Halloween stitching this year. And if I didn't, then I'm sure Kate did.

Happy Stitching,

Tiffstitch

    1. It's a good idea because things go out of print. I had to add some to my wish list after checking your list too!

  2. Great selection!

I have bat banner although, since I've yet to find fabric "orange" enough for it, I'll probably never do it.

    1. Have you checked here? http://www.chromatic-alchemy.co.uk/

She does custom fabrics and could maybe make an orange one that you like and possibly one for the Glendon Place Sleepy Hollow.

  4. Great choices! I have the Happy Halloween one and would like to stitch it soon. The Ink Circles ones are really cool; I just discovered them. The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery is on my want list. Maybe A is for Apparition? I saw the Spider Banner on one of the Flosstube videos; yeah, they creep me out, too!
